Winner of the Best Handy Tip Competition

Hello everyone

We hope you are all well. We have now chosen a winner for the Best Handy Tip Competition.

The winning entry is by Maryemm and is about how she decorates her plain black shoes with clip on earrings from the local junk shop. We thought it was a great way to get lots of use out of one pair of shoes, and also a good way to save space on holiday packing - giving your shoes lots of different looks for the price of one.

Thank you 'Maryemm' for sending in your Handy Tip.

Your prize is a Breakfast Collection Kettle and Toaster from Philips in Kiwi Green.

And thank you to everyone who entered the competition, there were some fantastic ideas.

We now how a brand new Competition on the Chat & Socialise page, we're looking for the best photograph of the month in our Photo Gallery, so don't forget to enter.

All the best

I tried a similar idea to your theme on holiday. I have a plain black strapless swimming costume and I livened it up by pinning a brooch to the front. (I took the brooch off when I went swimming). But it really made it look good.

 Neat idea!

How about adding trailing white ribbons and pinning these on with a large brooch? Quite a different-looking swimsuit. Or even lengths of beads?

(Watch out for hot sun on "metal", though).

Bet you had  a great holiday.

A fashion section might be interesting, Jenny. I am always trying to work on a capsule wardrobe.

It worked very well and really made my swimsuit look glamorous. I didn't notice the hot metal effect luckily! I like your idea of beads and ribbons - next time perhaps!

It was a lovely holiday. Lido de Jesolo is a really pretty resort and quite near to Venice.

Perhaps we can add Fashion Ideas as a new group! Jenny

Even the name "Lido de Jesolo" sounds good!

It was like heaven ... beautiful beach, sunshine and sea ... and wonderful food!

Have added a new Fashion Tips Group to the chat page - so would be great to hear your tips!

Oh dear! I shouldn't have suggested it.

I'm too old for all you youngsters. :O(
