TV today...

Is anyone else fed up with the current state of BBC productions?

'Jamaica Inn' was a complete disaster - with mumbled speech and sets too dark to be seen.

It makes me really cross when I think how much it must have cost to make and how many viewers gave up watching it after episode one.

Tacky Paint Job!

I'm not the best when it comes to DIY  - my bright ideas don't often turn out as I anticipate. The fitter didn't point out what was happening - he had a schedule to stick to. Unfortunately the paint was still tacky so I had a…

Standards & Values

Good Morning Fellow 'Sixtyplusurfers'

It's a lovely sunny morning here in Nottinghamshire and I'm feeling OK. However, having recently returned from a short break in the historic city of York, I feel duty bound to have a little rant about one of my pet hates, which is my perceived decline in the 'Standards & Values' in everyday living, compared with say fifty years ago.

Sweetheart?

Hi  I have  been discussing with friends how we are treated in shops now we are 60+ . Until the last few years we were never regularly called, "Sweetheart" when paying. Has this happened to other Sixtyplusurfers or is it a local phenomenon?
