Hi all, I've been busy lately copying old records to MP3. The software I'm using works like a dream. So far I've copied around eight double sides and this has only taken up about 700megs, so I reckon that I can easily get the rest on about a 1.5GB total. All the disks are in good condition, so I'm looking for any one who can find them a good home when I'm ready to part with them (totally free-of-charge of course!) They include some 45rpm singles and some old 78rpm singles.
Having just purchased an expensive desktop at a bargain price from the now defunct Comet Stores, I was keen to experience the feel of Windows 8. I found it virtually unusable, and after finding a way around 'Secure Boot', I installed Linux Mint, and now have a fabulously fast computer with a traditional desk-top. (Linux Mint, by the way, for anyone who has never heard of it, is a non-Windows open source operating system. Anyone had a good experience with Windows 8?

I was having a clear-out the other day, and came across an old list relating to pages from The Radio Times. I don't have those anymore, but it brought to mind the fun we had listening to some of the old radio comedy shows during and just after the war years. I remember these from about four years old, in 1944 and they ran for years after.
