Thank you Christine. The temple of Ta Prohm was abandoned in 15 century after the fall of Khmer empire so the trees must be very old.  They are Silk Cotton trees and Strangler Figs. Authorities in Cambodia decided not to cut them back when they rediscovered the temple and it has now become a major tourist attraction.  Site was used for filming of Tomb Raider - you can see why!

I have always been very fond of Amsterdam, and have visited and stayed there many times. Until recently, I had only been in the warmer times of the year. The pavement cafés were buzzing, flower everywhere, and the sunlight on the canals was magical.

But then we went in winter! Oh my, what a change. I still love the place, but doesn't it show that our idea of the perfect idyll, may only be an illusion after all.

We went there a few years ago, it was very nice with all the bridges and flower stalls and it was kept so clean, The exciting part was the ferry, I love being on the water, would like to go on a river cruise through the European capitals.

One of my favourite cities too, Paddy. I still like it in winter as it has so many great art galleries and museums to visit that are less crowded out of the tourist season.

My husband and I were walking along the river at Hampton Court Palace and came across this "windowed" wall, I thought it very pretty as you can see the beautiful chimney stacks on the Palace.
