We’d love to win this wonderful wind chime. It would be perfect addition to our new house that we’ve just moved into.

I’m always looking for ways to save money on the food bill. One way is to buy a small ham joint, boil it with carrots, celery, a leek and an onion. When the ham is cooked it can be cooled and used for several meals such as salads and in omelettes. The leftover stock and vegetables I blend to make a hearty soup.

When shaping children’s birthday cakes save the sponge cut offs to make trifle for the party.  You can also make odd shapes into animals etc and ice them.  Makes individual small cakes.

Don't let the dusting get on top of you; go round with a duster when you can actually see the difference it makes and where you've been!

I make a rule to lift anything that’s not to be in a room every time I leave it. Shoes to the cupboard. Newspaper to the recycling etc. It chips away at the clutter without too much effort.

I have a fish net and manage to ease ants, moths, flys' and others out of the family home, supposedly without harming them.

Warm lemons in the microwave for 30 seconds before juicing them. They produce more juice that way

Now is the time to give any outdoor wooden furniture, trellis etc a little love to ensure a long life - take off loose dirt/debris with an old stiff brush of any type and paint on a coat of linseed oil - doesn't have to be more expensive Danish or teak oil. It can be really quick and not too much effort if you do it every year.

Start collecting the fallen pine cones, and conkers and dry them out in the shed or conservatory window ledge, ready to spray paint in gold or silver for Christmas decorations. Tie a thin red ribbon on pine cone for xmas tree dec, or arrange in a bowl with a candle for a table centre piece, once painted and dry.

I tried a beautiful jumper on but it just didn't hang right so I pinched their idea and sewed my own white pearl drops on. Not only have I saved money not buying a new jumper, but I have brightened up one of my old ones.
